Monster Green Smoothie

Naturally, food plays a a big part in our health. Fresh food. Food that takes effort. Food that starts at the farmers market - kale, baby bok choy, fresh berries, watermelon, corn, green beans, asparagus, lemons, peaches, farm fresh eggs and beyond.

I titled this post the Green Monster because that's what I now call my go-to breakfast. The Green Monster is a delicious smoothie packed with almond milk, kale, mango, pear, and agave. It's a great way to get vegetables in to the day at the get-go and an excellent fiber boost. I put all these pure and natural ingredients in to the blender, pour the produced smoothie in a to-go cup, and get on with my day. I've come to enjoy sipping it on my way to work and letting go of the morning chaos on Interstate 90 that I cannot control.

This smoothie has made kale a staple in my fridge. Kale is extremely beneficial to the body on many levels. It helps with digestion. It's full of antioxidants. It's packed with vitamins A, K, and C. It's great for your cardiovascular health. And it's fights at least six different kinds of cancer.

If you are looking for something quick, easy, and natural - this is the answer. It's also not a bad way to trick yourself into another serving of veggies for the day.

Here's to good health!

 My Monster Green Smoothie

Ingredients
1 1/4 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
2-3 Kale Leaves, chopped
1/2 Pear
1/2 Cup Frozen Mango
1 Tbsp. Agave, Organic Honey, or Stevia in the Raw
3-4 Ice Cubes

Directions
Add all the ingredients into a blender, puree until smooth, pour, and sip.

Feel free to switch this up to suit what you have in your fridge. I've added a banana from time to time, or a cup of fresh blueberries. Add in whatever feels good to you. Take care of yourself!

Here's to good health, Rachel! I've enjoyed numerous Green Monsters, too, via Oh She Glows and her Green Monster Movement. I haven't tried kale in it before, will need to try! Mine usually includes spinach, mixed berries, and banana. Yum. :)
